Having sailed a couple of times before with friends, I reckoned if anybody gets to do this, it might as well be me!
Finding the boat was easy, lots to choose from! The broker said, I probably hadn’t done enough sailing to know which one I wanted? I really couldn’t wait, the Wihting 29 was ready to go. I took it out, solo.
As the saying goes, If you don’t know what you don’t know… Hell, what fun it’s going to be.
I refrained from racing the single handed series the first year, mainly for the others. Then signed up to learn how to make the boat go faster. No doubt, the learning will go on for quite a while. The rules, follow the others. The tactics, watch Nigel and try the opposite.
The crew, just Jack Russell for good company
